Rootstocks
A rootstock is chosen for the soil before it is chosen for the variety.
Available rootstocks
GF677GF677Selected by INRA in France. Induces high vigour, greater than seedling rootstock. A versatile rootstock, used mainly for peach, almond and plum, although with an interstock it is increasingly used for apricot too. It gives high productivity and also adapts to calcareous, poorly irrigated and hilly soils. It tolerates clay soils, provided they are not waterlogged. Susceptible to Agrobacterium and Armillaria.
GarnemGarnemPatented and produced under GESLIVE licence. High-vigour rootstock, greater than or equivalent to GF677. Suitable for replanting, with a characteristic red leaf. Good rooting ability, resistant to root-knot nematodes and iron chlorosis. Low chilling requirement.
